Catering The Royal Wedding

May 17, 2018 | Catering, Paramount Events, Weddings

A Royal Wedding is a rare event, and the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this Saturday celebrates the real-life fairytale between an English prince and an American actress. While we love the story of these two unlikely lovebirds, we’re even more focused on the catering for the big day and the amazing dishes and ingredients likely to be enjoyed by Britain’s elite. Here’s a quick preview of what cuisine can be expected at the most celebrated wedding in years.

The wedding cake served by the newlyweds will be made by Chef Claire Ptak of the London-based Violet Cakes organic bakery. The cake is reported to feature Amalfi lemons and English elderflowers to evoke a feeling of Springtime and be covered in buttercream and fresh flowers. Chocolate truffles, a Windsor Castle classic, are also likely to accompany the aromatic cake.

The after-party will shed tradition and reportedly embrace a Tiki-themed party atmosphere, with “apache shooters,” South African wagyu beef, and a vodka ice luge. Late night snacks will include ice cream trucks that will serve the couple’s closest friends until way past the Queen’s bedtime.

Unfortunately, Buckingham Palace has been very tight-lipped about the dinner reception and hors d’oeurvres served before the ceremony at Kensington Palace. Here’s what we do know: a huge push will be made for fresh produce and a sustainable agriculture themed menu. The couple has also hired Table Talk Catering, an exclusive caterer from London that has focused on clean and natural cuisine at past events. One thing is for sure, guests will enjoy some of the most fresh and delicious food possible during this world-wide event.

While this Chicago caterer can only dream of serving the Queen, we’re ready to make you feel like royalty on your big day! Reach out anytime to start planning at (773) 880-8044 or INFO@PARAMOUNTEVENTSCHICAGO.COM.
