Building the Perfect Sweets Station

December 5, 2018 | Décor, Weddings

Weddings featuring cake as their solo dessert are now relics of the past. Including a sweets station at your wedding provides variety and ensures that every guest has their sweet tooth satisfied. These three key points are critical when designing your own personal sweets station:

Satisfied Guests: Including something for everyone is a must. A rich chocolate dish is always popular, along with a dessert that incorporates fruit in a creative way. A couple ideas for this are savory fruit tarts, or even a simple fresh fruit platter for health-conscious guests. Being considerate of dietary needs is expected as well, so having tasty options for gluten free and vegan guests is always a plus. Despite these trends, some guests still maintain the tradition of coming over to the dessert table with a piece of wedding cake in mind. Make sure to include the option for a slice of the main cake at the station as well.

The Display: Impress your guests with a station that displays the multiple dessert options at different heights by using varied cake stands, tiered pieces and decorative plates. Many couples opt for cake stands in their favorite colors or the color scheme of the wedding to add a personal touch.

Be Creative: Take non-traditional routes! Some ideas include a root beer float station, ice cream sundae bar, doughnut wall, pie slices or even making your own s’mores. Engaging stations create an exciting atmosphere and make your wedding stand out in guest memories and experiences.
